Premium custom wheels can run well into five figures for four wheels. For example, HRE lists its Series S2 from $4,675 per wheel, while Brixton lists Carbon+ from $4,920 per wheel. Multiplying those starting prices by four gives $18,700 and $19,680, respectively, before working out the exact specification and installed total. Neither figure establishes the world’s most expensive set.
This guide originally listed five costly wheels in 2015. Those names remain below for readers researching them, but their old prices should not be treated as current offers. The useful buying comparison starts with a dated manufacturer price and a written quote for your car.

These manufacturer listings were checked on September 8, 2026. The four-wheel column is our arithmetic using the advertised starting price; it is not a quoted package, proof of inventory or a delivered total.

HRE lists different construction options across these series. Brixton describes Carbon+ as a DYMAG carbon-fiber barrel with a forged aluminum face and titanium hardware. That is a specific construction, so do not compare it with a one-piece carbon-fiber wheel solely because both use the word carbon.
These are examples from two manufacturers with published starting prices, not a market-wide ranking. A size, finish or vehicle-specific configuration can change the price. Ask whether the total includes tires, sensors, hardware, shipping, tax, mounting and balancing before comparing two quotes.
What happened to the original five examples?
The amounts below document what Chariotz’s original article reported. Except for the separately sourced CR-9 announcement, we have not established current manufacturer pricing or availability for these exact products. The table is an archive reference, not a shopping list.

The million-dollar Asanti claim
The original article also described a Bentley included with the diamond-wheel purchase. We have not verified that offer or a completed sale from a primary source, so it should not be repeated as an available deal or a proven auction record. For a current purchase, begin with Asanti’s official site and ask about the exact wheel, rather than assuming an old model name is still orderable.
Jewelry value, a publicity price and the cost of a road wheel answer different questions. A headline amount does not tell you how the wheel was tested, what it weighs or whether it fits your vehicle.
A documented CR-9 price change
Carbon Revolution’s May 4, 2017 announcement listed a set of four CR-9 wheels from $11,850 MSRP for five-bolt fitments and $13,850 for Porsche center-lock fitments. Those are dated manufacturer figures, not September 2026 retail quotes.
The distinction matters when researching used wheels: the model name alone does not identify the mounting system or application. Carbon Revolution’s current company site describes its OEM supply business; it does not turn the old CR-9 announcement into a current offer for your car.
For the Loma, CX506 and NUTEK examples, obtain model identification, exact specifications and support information before treating a seller’s asking price as evidence of value. This refresh does not certify those products as discontinued or available.
Compare the complete job before paying a deposit
Start with the vehicle, including its year, trim, brakes and suspension changes. Ask the supplier to confirm the proposed application in writing. If the supplier claims a performance advantage, ask for the weight and supporting data for the exact wheel size being quoted. For a car driven regularly, leave room in the budget for suitable tires and ongoing care. Choose the appearance you like, then require the supplier to explain the fitment and total cost. Paying more does not remove those checks.
